Providing supermarket vouchers for families fleeing abuse is an invaluable form of support. These vouchers are crucial as they allow individuals to purchase essential items immediately, particularly when they may not have access to other financial resources. The vouchers ensure that those staying in emergency temporary accommodation or the refuge have sufficient food and basic essentials during the initial, critical phase of establishing independence and escaping abusive environments.
By having the means to purchase what they need, individuals are empowered to take control of their lives and begin their journey to a safer, independent future.

Give a special occasion gift
We are currently running low on gift items, which are crucial for supporting women in the refuge or those participating in our community programs. These gifts are given to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, Mother’s Day, Christmas, and other significant celebrations. It’s essential that these moments are not overlooked when someone is staying in a domestic abuse refuge. Celebrating these occasions helps provide a sense of normalcy and joy during a challenging time.
Celebrating special occasions maintains a sense of normalcy and continuity for women and their families. Acknowledging these events makes women feel valued and remembered, reinforcing their self-worth.
Ideas for gifts include:
- Self-Care Kits: Including bath salts, body lotions, face masks and face masks.
- Skincare Sets: High-quality skincare products such as cleansers, moisturisers, and serums.
- Beauty Products: Makeup kits, nail polish sets, and hair care products.
- Soft Blankets and Throws: Cozy and warm blankets for comfort.
- Comfortable Pyjamas and Slippers: Soft and cozy sleepwear.
- Hot Water Bottles: For warmth and comfort.

Donate clothing and children’s items
Pre-loved clothing for teenagers and adults is collected by our friends at MK Storehouse. The wonderful team of volunteers collects, sorts and stores items. When we are in need of items we make a request directly to them. Please visit their website to see which items they accept and their opening times and location.
Pre-loved clothing for under 7’s, toys and baby items – collected by Baby Basics MK, when we are in need of items for specific children we can request those items. Baby Basics MK kindly collects, sorts and stores items. Pleases visit their website for opening times and items they can collect.
Easter Donations
We arrange celebrations across the year for residents of the refuge
We would love to host an activity for the adults and children which would include donations of:
Seed pots
Seeds (Marigolds/sunflowers/tomatoes)
Compost
We would like to hold an afternoon tea, to bring residents together, reducing isolation at a time when often in the past they might have been with family, but due to their safety will be spending their Easter time at the refuge.
Hot cross buns
Little cakes (French fancies etc)
Tea
Sugared almonds
Mini eggs
Macarons
Strawberries
Flowers
Bagels
Cream cheese
Salmon
Pastel coloured table cloths / napkins/ paper plates

Donations of toiletries
We now have drop off points across Milton Keynes
We accept new, unopened toiletries which are distributed to those who use our service.
We are very grateful to receive: Shampoo and conditioner, shower gel and handwash, toothbrushes and floss, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, cosmetics, nappies and baby wipes.
