Olympic Mindset Lunches to raise money for domestic abuse charity!

GB Olympian, Peter Bakare has signed up for the #Franklins50 challenge and will try to turn £50 seed funding from Franklins Solicitors LLP into as much money as possible over three months for local Milton Keynes domestic abuse charity, MK Act. Peter will use the £50 seed funding to design and print promotional materials to offer Milton Keynes’ businesses discounted motivational lunchtime talks for their staff.

Peter said, “I’m so excited to be part of the Franklin’s £50 Challenge to raise money for MK Act. They are such a great charity who help hundreds of families in Milton Keynes who are suffering from domestic abuse. Through Nutri Troops, I have helped coach hundreds of children in Milton Keynes and some of them have been from an MK Acts refuge. I have seen the positive impact the charity has had on these families, helping them to find safety away from domestic abuse, so I would love the opportunity to raise money for MK Act’s Last Resort Fund.”

Peter represented Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics playing Volleyball and is now a great ambassador for the sport. He went to Sheffield Hallam University where he studied Animation and became involved in scriptwriting. He has worked as a scriptwriter for Channel 4 drama Skins. Peter has now retired from volleyball and now runs his own company, Nutri Troops, which is a ground-breaking programme aimed at encouraging primary age children to achieve positive goals through exercise and healthy eating, inspired by the Olympics, animated heroes, and villains.

Peter is a motivational speaker and particularity likes working with people to inspire them to be their best. He has recently worked with and given talks to various brands including BBC Sport, Discovery Channel, 20th Century Fox, Specsavers, UK Parliament, Nike and Work Skills UK.

Throughout April and May he is offering companies in Milton Keynes the opportunity to have a bespoke talk and lunch at their premises where he will cover a range of topics to suit the needs of the company. Some recent talks he has done include ‘How to achieve your personal best’ and ‘The Hero’s Journey’.

Testimonials Include: “Peter was an inspirational hit with staff in my organisation, who thoroughly enjoyed his engaging delivery as well as his relatable and honest delivery style. Peter is welcome back anytime, for staff or student events!”- Weston College

Sue Burke, Chief Exec of MK Act said “Last year we supported over 2000 people in Milton Keynes. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in the UK will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. We are really excited to be part of the Franklin’s 50 Challenge and are so grateful to Peter for helping us to raise money for our much-needed Last Resort Fund for MK Act. Peter’s talks are fantastic so I’m sure lots of companies in MK will really enjoy it at the same time as helping our charity! “
